Kerry Bashford (1963-)

Kerry Bashford - writer, journalist, editor - grew up in Newcastle, NSW. His religious upbringing and his involvement in gay activism and political movements have each provided him with a home at the margins. In this interview, Kerry talks about his involvement in gay activism, through the (Newcastle) Gay Rights Lobby, the Gay Liberation Quire, Gays Against Racism and Pink Ink Collective, and in politics, through Resistance and the Socialist Workers Party. When he moved to Sydney, he became more involved in publishing and writing and was editor of Campaign. Kerry was also an active member of the Harbour City Bears.
