Pride History Group hosted an LGBTIQA+ history conference in March 2023 held on Gadigal and Wangal Lands as part of the Pride Inner West program.

3 - 4 March 2023

The Pride History Conference brought together people passionate about LGBTIQA+ history for an insightful and accessible exploration of Sydney’s and Australia’s queer history. Speakers and attendees were from multidisciplinary backgrounds including community historians, academics, students, archivists, creatives and activists. The conference also included a local focus on LGBTIQA+ history of Sydney’s Inner West, which is a significant area in the history of LGBTIQA+ cultural life and activism.


 

VENUE

The conference will be held at Marrickville Library Pavilion in the heart of Sydney’s Inner West – an area of significance in Australia’s LGBTIQA+ cultural heritage and history of queer activism, liberation and social justice.
